The topic on whether a vegan diet is safe for kids has been an incredibly hot topic lately, and though there are numerous examples of strong, healthy kids being raised in the spirit of veganism, the media always decides to focus on one or two separate cases when something has gone wrong (which may or may not be due to a kid’s vegan diet).
Yet, I have always observed and believed that kids were born with very well developed instincts and inner knowledge on not only what is ‘right’ and what is ‘wrong’, but also what is good for their body, and what is not. I have watched time and over again a kid not wanting to eat meat, or a kid not wanting to eat candy, for example, but being forced by their parents to ‘eat it in order to grow up’.
Over time, we are being ‘trained’ to conform to society’s standards and beliefs, just like our parents have been trained by their parents, and so on. Some of us manage to wake up, and gain a certain amount of freedom from this system, but most of society blindly follows exactly what they have been told to believe (as the reactions of the parent in some of these videos will show).
These 10 videos are proof kids carry greater wisdom than most grown-ups
And some of the footages are not simply heartbreaking – the reaction of a mum teaching her kid to eat a killed animal, just because ‘they’ didn’t kill it is absolutely infuriating. The world would be a much better place if we all preserved the purity and gentleness of a kid’s soul as we grow up!
1. ‘Would you like it if someone ate you?’ – this adorable little girl is so genuinely torn inside when her mom forces her to eat meat, you’ll want to cry!
10. Sometimes, children’s relationships with animals can even help grown-ups make the connection.
In this video, a 5-year-old girl lets a cow into her house when her mom isn’t looking. She cuddles with the cow, and her mom’s heart melts. Her mom then says, “We need to stop eating beef. … I think she’s going to get me to stop eating beef.”
