THIS Vegan Fast-Food Chain Pledges To Fight Racism By…

Californian vegan food chain Plant Power Fast Food has pledged to donate all profits made this weekend to organizations fighting racism.

Profits from sales made on June 6 and June 7 — at all Plant Power Fast Food locations — will be donated to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the Black Visions Collective.

“To Be Silent Is To Be Complicit”

“To be silent is to be complicit” said Zach Vouga, co-founder of Plant Power Fast Food.

“Often businesses are wary of conflict by sharing a stance that may polarize their fanbase” he added.

“Plant Power’s entire reason for existence is based upon our polarizing stance on animal advocacy and environmentalism so taking a stand for another cause we feel strongly about was easy for us.”

Vegan Fast-Food Chain

Plant Power Fast Food opened its first restaurant in 2016 in San Diego. It has since opened five more brick-and-mortar locations and launched a food truck.

Last year, vegan Disney start Mena Massoud invested in the chain.

“I’ve spent a great deal of time touring North America visiting a lot of plant-based restaurants” Massoud said.

“Plant Power Fast Food immediately stuck out as a big player…There is great attention to detail, and we share the same outlook, that in order to cause real change, we have to make plant-based living accessible to the masses.”
