Coffee and sandwich chain Pret A Manger has announced it will open seven more Veggie Pret stores in the UK.
The chain currently has seven totally meat-free locations — with six in London and one in Manchester — and 530 UK stores in total.
The seven new animal-friendly cafes are all set to open in London this summer.
The very first Veggie Pret began as a month-long pop-up in Soho in 2016, and quickly became a permanent fixture. The company chief executive Clive Schlee said he never imagined it would become a permanent fixture.
Vegan At Pret
The company has recently updated the menu at veggie stores to include 15 new vegan options, such as the Raspberry and Coconut Smoothie Bowl, the Tropical Green Smoothie Bowl, and the Mango and Banana Sunshine Smoothie Bowl.
In addition to the veggie locations offering a variety of vegan options, regular Pret cafes also cater to plant-based customers.
The latest vegan hit for the company is the Very Berry Croissant — which is reportedly outselling its traditional dairy counterpart by 100 percent.
