Peta Releases “Tofu Never Caused A Pandemic” Halloween Costume

Animal welfare organization People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has released a Halloween costume to advocate against eating meat.

The vegan-friendly Halloween costume features a white tofu-block head and a sign that reads “Tofu Never Caused a Pandemic.”

The costume comes with 25 leaflets to be distributed to trick-or-treaters that contain healthy recipes, such as tofu scramble and chocolate mousse pie.

“A Clean And Wholesome Food”

“PETA’s Halloween costume makes the point that while breeding animals for food breeds killer diseases, too, tofu is a clean and wholesome food,” said Ingrid Newkirk, PETA president, in an email to Raise Vegan.

“It may not have occurred to everyone until now, but versatile vegan foods like tofu might just be the key to stopping nasty contagious diseases before they start.”
