“I’m That Girl Who Feeds Her Fox Vegan. The Truth About Jumanji”

Over the last two weeks or so I kept seeing this outburst of articles, regarding a fennec fox, being fed a vegan diet. I generally try to stay away from negative news on I Nourish Gently, and this is why I decided I would not join into this wild discussion as to how the fox’s owner is actually abusing the animal.

My position on the issue is that wild animals must be kept in the wild, and I, myself, would NOT buy or support the breeding of exotic animals in any way. However, I did not want to be too judgmental towards the owner of this fox, because we all know the internet is looking for sensations and for stories that feed hatred and negativity. So, I gave this story the benefit of the doubt.

This is why, when I saw the owner of the fox has posted a video to defend herself and provide some detailed explanations, I decided I wanted to help spreading this side of the story.

Again, I am not taking sides or expressing an explicit opinion here. All I am saying is that more people need to see the other side of the story, too!

Check it out for yourself:

Again, I would like to emphasize that I am not posting this in order to accuse or defend anyone. I am just posting it to make a statement not to believe everything that the Internet tells you or to be too quick in pouring out hate and accusations towards someone, who may not be ‘as guilty’ as others want you to believe.

I feel that we, as vegans, should support each other, listen to each other, and educate each other in the kindest most compassionate way – because what makes us different from meat-eaters if we eat the souls of our fellow humans with our unkind thoughts, words, and actions?
