If you’ve ever wanted to make the recipes found in the Harry Potter universe (butterbeer, anyone), but couldn’t because they weren’t vegan, Peta has something for you. Evanna Lynch, the actress who played Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter movies, has teamed up with peta2 (PETA’s youth division) for a new cooking tutorial.
The instructional videos will teach you how to veganize Hogwarts-inspired recipes.
Lynch first prepares Chocolate Frogs, which she calls “the perfect vegan treat for any witch, wizard, or muggle.” Butterybeer, a fan-favorite, can be made using non-dairy milk or creamer, but Lynch used vegan ice cream (yum). Last was Pumpkin Pasties, which seem super easy to make, as well as super tasty.
Evanna didn’t simply play a Hogwarts student who had a soft spot for all living beings:
IRL, she has a huge heart for animals and passionately speaks up for their rights. As a vegan and animal activist, she encourages others to stand up for animals’ right to live free from unnecessary suffering.
“KILLING AND EATING ANIMALS IS A BETRAYAL OF OUR OWN CORE HUMANITY.”
FEELING INSPIRED? PLEDGE TO GO VEGAN!
Although Evanna might have the gift of magic on her side, you don’t have to be a witch or wizard to help animals. Try vegan and start saving over a 100 animals a year!
By going vegan, you can help prevent animals from enduring abuse and being killed for their skin, fur, and flesh. Plus, plant-based foods are super delish.
Dea is passionate about pursuing gentle, pure living in all its forms. She’s a veg and fruit foodie, who loves to explore the healing properties of plant-based foods and then fully indulge in their sun-filled taste. She believes that “In the end, only three things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.”
