Here is an encouraging piece of news that perfectly showcases a trend that is meant to grow!
Britain’s dairy farmers are facing a crisis due to falling demand – because health professionals are treating milk and dairy products ‘as the enemy’, an expert has warned, the Daily Mail reports.
For vegans of course, it is encouraging to see that more people are becoming aware of the harmful effects of milk – both on our health and the animals!
The reports goes on to say that David Dobbin, chief executive of United Dairy Farmers – a co-operative group of producers – confirmed younger generations are drinking far less milk than their parents and grandparents did.
Farmers are facing a big drop in demand for milk
as Mintel figures revealed 93% of over 55s in Britain drink milk compared with 81% of 16 to 34-year-olds.
And a Kantar Worldpanel study found the over 65s drink milk 875 times a year compared with 5 to 24-year-olds who have a glass just 275 times a year.
