Just a few years back, I was no Christmas person. Not at all.
Christmas carols would annoy me, and I would support the opinion that we need to live every day fully, rather than putting all our energy towards holidays alone.
Then I changed my mind.
I think holidays are an amazing time to re-connect with family, strengthen our bonds with loved ones, and basically re-energize ourselves with positivity and good vibes! Holidays are like a breath of fresh air giving us enough reasons to feel more joyous and optimistic about what’s to come!
With so many positive vegan news lately, we definitely have enough to feel positive about.
And now, here are
9 songs by vegan musicians to further strengthen your jolly Christmas mood!
1. Stevie Wonder – That’s What Christmas Means to Me
Stevie became vegan several years ago and has spoken out about the environmental devastation caused by meat.
2. Carrie Underwood – Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
3. Leona Lewis – One More Sleep
A vegetarian since the age of 12, Lewis made the plunge into veganism in 2012 and supports an animal sanctuary in Essex called Hopefield.
One, Jason Mraz has an awesome voice. 2. He lives on a farm that produces 30,000 pounds of avocados per year. 3. He grows micro-greens on his tour bus to fuel his plant based snacking. Enough to fall in love with him in the fraction of the second…
5. Rise Against – Making Christmas
OK, this is not your ‘usual’ Christmas Carol, yet I find it energizing! Rise Against is yet another awesome band made up of vegetarians! Front man McIlrath is an outspoken animal advocate and vegan who likes chowing down on vegan jerky backstage and checking out local veg restaurants while they’re on tour.
6. Miley Cyrus & Bill Murray – Sleigh Ride (A Very Murray Christmas)
She sings, she acts and she’s been vegan for 16 years, raising her family cruelty-free. She even maintained her plant based diet through her pregnancies saying, “I had a vegan pregnancy…My kids have still never had meat.”
8. I Don’t Want To Be Alone For Christmas Written by Diane Warren
Hailed by some as “the most important songwriter in the world,” famed Grammy Award-winner Diane Warren is a true champion for animals!
9. Ariana Grande – Santa Tell Me
This award-winning singer and actress went vegan in 2013 and says, “I am a firm believer in eating a full plant-based, whole food diet that can expand your life length and make you an all-around happier person.”
