With a classic ‘70s vibe and a massive menu, the chain started in Atlanta, Georgia four decades ago and has grown to 180 locations in 21 states. Vegan cheese can be added to any item, from pizzas to hoagies to calzones, and tofu and tempeh are topping options, too. They even have a separate vegan menu that’s available online.
Co-owned by the king of Cleveland — Lebron James — Blaze specializes in fast-fired, personalized pies. The regular and gluten-free crusts are both vegan-friendly, as are the classic red, spicy red, and BBQ sauces. Plus, Blaze offers a whopping 17 fruit and veggie topping options to choose from.
At this make-your-own pizza joint, guests can make their own pies or salads, or choose from signature creations and “foldwiches.” The regular crust isn’t vegan, but the gluten-free and whole wheat crusts are. Other vegan friendly-topping options include tomato basil sauce, garlic-infused olive oil, BBQ sauce, buffalo sauce, all fresh veggies, grilled tofu, black bean corn salsa, almonds, walnuts, fresh herbs, grapes, raspberry vinaigrette and balsamic vinaigrette.
With 117 locations across the country, Pieology touches 21 states (plus Guam!). The wheat and gluten-free crusts are vegan, and the spot offers signature pies and salads, plus make-your-own options for both. In addition to vegan cheese, there are 16 fresh veg toppings to choose from.
A smaller chain with locations in six states, Two Boots has been offering vegan options since the early ‘90s (their first honored actress and songstress extraordinaire Bette Midler). Now, the chain has a signature V for Vegan pizza made with artichokes, red onions, shiitake mushrooms, sweet red pepper pesto, basil pesto and Daiya cheese. Plenty of other pies on the menu can be veganized, and vegan ricotta is now an additional cheese option.
This wood-fired pizza chain is also about the personalized pies. Vegan cheese is available for pizzas, salads, and sandwiches, and the traditional and whole wheat doughs are both vegan-friendly. There are loads of specialty pies on the menu, and the “Veggin’ Out” options (like the Greek or Wild Mushroom) are easily veganized.
